Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2024-08-19T13:23Z ( STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
Activity ID: 2024-08-19T13:23:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Note Keyword:
Faint: Faint event; may affect type assignment
FF: Event fails/disappears before exiting COR2
OVR: Event partially overlaps with another CME
Source Signature Keyword:
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
Morphology Keyword:
L: Loop
Note: Faint CME visible to the northwest in SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and STEREO A COR2 imagery. This CME partially overlaps with CME 2024-08-19T12:36Z. The source is likely far-sided as faint opening of field lines are visible beyond the northwest limb, just north of the opening field lines attributed to the overlapping CME, in SDO AIA 171 and 193 imagery starting around 2024-08-19T12:20Z.

Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type |

Measurement of faint leading edge using best fit between SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and STEREO A COR2. The leading edge becomes too diffuse to track just before reaching halfway through the C3 field of view. Several STEREO A COR2 images were able to be used, but poor quality/pixilation of STEREO A COR2 difference imagery after the frame timestamped 2024-08-19T15:38Z hindered proper tracking of the leading edge in these frames. |
